\nWe all work hard during our lifetimes to establish our family homes and general wealth but all too often we don\u2019t like to even think about what will happen when we have gone. Every year almost 300,000 people pass away without having made a Will. Undoubtedly they will leave behind family, friends and neighbours who they may have wanted to inherit some of their wealth or possessions, had they got around to making these sorts of plans. In such cases, only \u2018blood relatives\u2019 are legally entitled to benefit and so a partner with whom they had lived, friends and neighbours who they may have been closer to and shared their lives with; will receive nothing. Sometimes people die with no relatives at all and in these cases, their entire estate passes to the Crown.<\/p>\n
