We all work hard during our lifetimes to establish our family homes and general wealth but all too often we don’t like to even think about what will happen when we have gone. It is not surprising perhaps that only 30% of us actually make a Will detailing how our property, money and other personal possessions should be distributed.
Every year almost 300,000 people pass away without having made a Will. Undoubtedly they will leave behind family, friends and neighbours who they may have wanted to inherit some of their wealth or possessions, had they got around to making these sorts of plans. In such cases, only ‘blood relatives’ are legally entitled to benefit and so a partner with whom they had lived, friends and neighbours who they may have been closer to and shared their lives with; will receive nothing. Sometimes people die with no relatives at all and in these cases, their entire estate passes to the Crown.
We are confident that most people have a fairly good idea of who they would want to (and also who they would not want to) inherit their property and possessions. This is really all you need to tell us!
We will then simplify the law, enabling you to make informed decisions about how to protect your assets and ensure that your loved ones will be provided for in the way you would want.
Why Make a Will
A Will is a legal document which details your instructions on what should happen to your estate when you pass away.
Lasting Powers of Attorney
Lasting Powers of Attorney are legal documents by which you give someone of your choice the authority to make decisions on your behalf.
